The bible (Hollanders) says it was used in 73-5 Birds. It is a 28 spline unit with the 4 pinion gear setup.
Its a decent unit for using under a truck that doesnt run a big engine or gets beat on a lot. Even tho the Bird had a 460 those were early smoggers that were seriously detuned.
The HD axle uses 31 splines.
