Spark Color
Generally speaking what color is the spark on these engines. I always thought spark was blue, but when checking spark with a purchased ignition spark tester, spark appeared yellow.What's up with that??

The spark from the spark plug should be blue. Is your spark tester one that you attach in between the plug with the plug still in the block and the ignition wire? That kind of tester only tells you whether you have a spark or not. By checking the color of the spark that the plug gives you, you will get an idea of how good the plug is.
Test the spark plug by grounding the plug on the block while someone turns the engine over to determine how good it is. You should get a blue spark on a good (new) plug.

Actually this tester is one where you disconnect the plug wire from the plug and connect it to the end of the tester, which has a connection point on it made like the tip of a spark plug. You then adjust the gap to approx. 10 mm and turn the engine over to test for spark.
