Dollar Signs

When you are writing a dollar sign, how many lines do you put through it, one or two?

I used to put two, but that got to be too much of a hassle, so now I just put one through it. Just wondered how you write them/which way you were taught.

It varies for me, but I have no idea what inspires me to write one or two. I think it depends more on how wide I wrote the "S".

2 is the way I learned. 1 is easier but doesn't look right to me. The symbol on my computer only has 1.

I just put a single line through it. I forget where I read it, but up to one hundred dollars gets one line, over one hundred gets two.
