if you want to scare the living daylights out of some fellow driver check out these horns, I just bought the one on here that has 2 facing forward and 1 facing backwards. Just like conrail used to have on there trains. ITs so loud that when i blow it when theres change on my dash it all vibrates off!!!!!! I got a kit for 325$ (i recommend it)
EDIT AGAIN:
so if any of you guys saw the thread about being a union pacific engineer, and are to old or already have a carreer this will at least make you sound like your a train driver
did the horn come with the compressor and parts to install the horns, I was looking at the kit and it looked like it was just the horns, nothing else. I kinda like the chrome ones, but they are both nice.
Thanks for any info,
Bill
HA HA HAAAA! OMG! Wait till you're coming up to a train crossing, and a couple of cars are going over ahead of you, THEN blow that thing!!!!
They'll hit the gas and fishtail right off the road!!!
sixho is rite, thats what we do, and when there is a train goin by we blow at them and we get the thumbs up!!!
And to answer hillbilly, they dont come with the compressor so i got one out of a low ride mag, but the sight does supply them i think!
One of the truck drivers that delivered our trees for our 2003 Christmas sale had one on his rig. He said he had to add another air compressor to really give the thing some sound. I think it may have had 4 or 5 horns - definitely had more than three. As he pulled out of the parking lot, he gave them a nice blast. You could have sworn there was going to be a freight train about to pass. Of course we all got a kick out of it!!
[/B]lol sounds good!!!! i own 2 wolo train horns and 2 high pitch plastic air horns, i connected it with a home depot air compressor thats gives out 130psi and powers up through a power converter inside my double cabin 1986 f150, and boy lol u have a blast with those horns, if ur near them, u gotta cover ur ears. i got my wolo horns from www.wolo-mfg.com good company to trust on, also check www.jcw.com =jesey witney company. well take care train lovers lol we'll soon compete on the road,
deltasoft.
Sorry, but those are not real train horns. Real "cast" horns used on most loco's are over 30" in length unless they use 5 or more horns. Most of the sets are over 50lbs. They wont hardly make any sound without 150- 200psi pumping to them.
