1990 F150 300 engine

I seem to be having trouble taking my water pump off. I disconnected the fan and clutch (4 bolts each) yet they won't come off and after removing the 4 bolts from the water pump, it rocks around but will not come off. There is a large nut on the fan and clutch shaft. Does that need to be loosened and if so what do you hold to stop everything else from turning while loosening? I've got the radiator shroud off also for ease of working. Any help would be appreciated.

Auto parts stores sell a tool set around $30 for removing the fan clutch. As for why you can't get the pump off with the bolts removed, I don't know - it should just drop off now.

About $15 from a Parts America source (Kragen, Advance, Schucks, etc.)
