OBD II Code

The check engine light is on in my truck. The truck is a 96 2wd 5 speed with the 4.6 I6. I was able to hook up a diagnostic scanner and got the following code:

P0141

O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Cylinder Bank No. 1, Sensor No. 2)

Has anyone else gotten this code or been able to diagnose it? I'm thinking of just replacing the O2 sensor but I don't want to spend time and money installing parts that may not be causing the problem.

Thanks in advance.

This might just be a bad fuse. To get into closed loop operation faster, the O2 sensor has a heating element built in, to get it to 600 degrees in under 60 seconds. If the sensor heater burned out, or the fuse blew, this would set a code. A Chiltons or a Factory Electrical manual would have the terminal pinout to check the exact line for power and the heater ground terminal for continuity to ground.
