What would cause the off light on the shifter to blink on a 97 EXP. It shifts fine, runs great. I can shut off the ENG. and restart and it'll turn off for a while, then turn back on again.

 

Drivetrain DTC (trouble code), go to autozone and they will read it for free or find a friend that has an Actron or Diablo or Superchip device that can read codes, it has to read more than check engine codes, these are sometimes called chassis or body codes. If I had to bet the farm on a wild guess it is most likely a torque converter code or somthing with a big dollar sign attached. Let us know what it turns out to be.

Thanks for the info. The code was for a 2-3 shift problem. Think it's a broken valve spring.
