diagnostic code 341
my code scanner reads error 341 with a 94 ranger 4.0. it's describes as Octane Adjust Service Pin in Use. What is this? I get an occational hesitation i'm trying to fix.

From the info. I have here,341 is for information only,while key on engine off test is running,to notify you it is installed. This is just a guess,but I'll assume the "pin" is in the board of the computer to limit the amount of timing advance for lower octane fuel.This may have something to do with vehicles that are built or shipped to Canada or Mexico? I hope this doesn't sound stupid and,that if I'm wrong,the person with the correct info. can explain without insulting me like I have seen on other boards{you oughtta see the insults on the A/C board!unbelievable!}
