04 05 what is the difference ??

Congrats, you'll love your truck! But I wouldn't wonder too much. From what I've heard, they removed some sound proofing in the 05's, except Lariats or something. Other than that I THINK everything is the same. You probably saved money buying an 04 because of end of year and they both have the new car smell.

thanks. yes, I got mine with leater, dvd, tow package, and alot of other goodies for $29k with rebates. Not too bad, as they wanted $34 for the 05 with the same options.

Right, the 05 Lariat would not of included the garage door opener and the adjustable pedals unless you ordered and paid extra for them. They are part of the 04 Lariat package.. That and they raised the price of the sunroof a 100 bucks or so..

awesome...looks like I made out pretty good then....at least I am not suffering buyers remorse, just a huge gas bill

Yes the lariat is a nice vehicle. I looked at those also but decided on the FX4. You did fine by buying a 04 as long as you are happy. Heck look at it this way I think the 04's have about 3,000 more on rebates so ya saved that if nothing else right? Keep us posted on what mods ya do and get some pics up. I will have some of mine up tomorrow hopefully.

the lariat rims are arizona beige vs gray
the leather on the steering wheel is different (rubbery feeling)
all 05 4x4's come with the frame damper kit (vibration band-aid)
Mp3 capability on 6 disc

I am trading in my 04 Lariate SCrew for an 05 next week - I liked the change to the tan leather... lots of complaints on it being to light - making it darker was a great thing. A little dissappointing that some of the defaults on the lariat 04 are now options in 05 but guessing that is kind of a sneaky way to raise prices without it being noticed by many - I was told by the dealer that they didn't anticipate any major changes to the F150 for several years given the amount of $$ stuck into the 04 design. Wish they would have made the factory floor mats bigger - guess they didn't listen to us on that one.

I seem to recollect reading some truck specs somewhere not too long ago--between the '04 and '05, the '05 weighs 70lbs less unless the specs were wrong or compared 2 different trucks. 70lbs of what? soundproofing? That seems like a lot.
Anyways, don't sniff too much of that new car smell despite how good it seems. It's probably carcinogenic ;-)

Another difference is that Ford uses the flat black "B" pillar trim on the '05 vs the gloss black trim pieces standard on the '04's.....I know this because I've changed out the UGLY (IMO) flat trim pieces on my '05 SCREW for the gloss black of the '04's!
