please pardon my ignorance, this is my first REAL truck! F-350 4X4 Lariat C/C. Found a tool in the glove box, was told it's used to remove the spare....Any comments?

Tim, thanks for the welcome, Sorry, didn't see a link for 'guidelines, nor for 'read first'. Do i have to do this before you'll answer my question?? Whats the tool for? Roland
Only guessing, but as spares are often stolen, the previous owner may have intalled an insert in the tube into which the jack handle goes when cranking down the spare. If, when you try to crank down the spare, it won't grab, then you probably need to attach the tool onto the handle first.
