spare tire lock
The spare tire was stolen from my 2001. Monday, I pick up a new 2003 FX4 - is there a reliable product that will prevent a repeat of the stolen spare?

It depends on how the tire is held up to the bed or frame. The thing that works the best is to have a piece of threaded grade 5 rod through the wheel lug hole and attach a wheel lock to it. Does the tire lower through a wire/crank system under the tailgate?

I have an easy solution. It does cost a little more but it's well worth it. All you have to do, is buy a really sensetive alarm system. This way if someone so much as touches your truck the alarm will go off. For my BRonco, I bought a Prestige alrarm system. It uses 6 speakers. Also it makes 5 different sounds. It did cost me $525.00 installed. I think it was well worth it!!
