Thumbs up Your Best Bonus?

Ok,so the thread by Hardware about bonuses got me wondering,,,
What was the best Christmas bonus you ever got from your employer?

For me it was while working at a Ford Dealership, the service manager came out and handed all the master techs a check for $1000!Each!It was a good year,I had already done all my christmas shopping so I was going to put it away. Then a buddy of mine showed up and talked me into going christmas shopping with him.Next thing I knew,Bam,$1000 gone, and some really spoiled children had one heck of a christmas!

$10 bucks and a card sent to 8 employees to share back and forth. That was a one time deal, other jobs that I had no matter what I made , I never received a bonus nor did any other employee. I have been lucky to "have" to work about 75% of all holidays in the last 25 years. I once was told by my boss that I should work holidays because I married someone who had been married before and that is not like a real family. People have great christmas cheer. I still remain a giver, that's what it is all about.

Best was $500 and two weeks off, paid. Worst was when I worked for a co. owned by a jewish family - they sceduled everyone to work on Christmas, then when they were reminded they went out and bought little summer sausages, cut them in half and gave everyone a half. It was even funny at the time because it was an honest mistake on their part. They really didn't know what to do.

This year I got $50 and two days off - unpaid.

Bonus!? What's that? This year I got a pocket flashlight. (1-AA size). My best one would have to be a ten dollar gift cert for Best-Buy.

In the early 90's, I worked for a transport trailer rental/leasing company that gave each employee $500 per year of service at Christmas time. In my last year there, I got $3500 the week before Christmas.
Ever since then, I've worked for myself and don't give myself a bonus.....

Man, I can't believe what some companies pay. The most I got was I think $150, but this year I got a $25 gift card to the most expensive grocery store in town. Yup, one thing of chicken, a bag of rolls, and a six pack of soda later, and my bonus is gone.
