I have an autometer ultra lite egt guage (pre turbo), when it is cold the needle jumps around and can tend to read way higher than expected. Could this be because of the ebp valve or did I get a faulty guage. The needle almost seems to get stuck sometimes. Most of the time works great, just a couple times it acts up while truck is cold. 32 F outside temps. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I'd say check your connections make sure they aren't touching. Possibly the truck is shaking alot when its cold (just after start up) and the connections can be touching each other. Just a thought.
Also check the guage ground. Mine acted like that and it turned out the ground came loose. The extra shaking at first of the day acted like you are describing.
check your power source to your gauge is the input voltage is varing it will make the gauge go do wierd things. i started loosing the ground to mine and it was all over the place
my pyro seems to do the same when it is cold out. i can also hear the turbo spool up at different pitches as well when this is happening, as well as a different exhaust note
