Just picked up a couple bottles to put in my 99.5's next change . This is ok, right? I got a little freaked when I opened the bottle and it was BLUE. Anyone know how long before the SCA's wear out[need to be replentished] w/ this coolant? Also, anyone in colder climates [not REAL cold,NJ] change to 10-30? Does it help? Thanks - I
You should check the coolant with the test strips before you add more SCA . You can get them at NAPA , Ford or most truck repair shops . And yes it does wear out . What color coolant is in the truck now , Green or gold ?

It's great stuff. I used it in mine. SCA's are already in it. It's probably the finest diesel coolant you can buy. I did extensive research. It is approved by Navistar and meets Ford specs. I thought about changing over to gold, but I wanted a more traditional method of SCA's. You need to monitor your SCA level, or you can add a coolant filter, with the SCA pellets in it.
I suggest you look at Mobil Delvac 1 5W-40 for good cold and hot weather performance. Shell Rotella Sythetic 5W-40 also a good choice.
Oops, sorry it is green - just didnt look that close. I'll be putting it in @ next change. Does Shell make rotella 10-30?
I haven't seen a 10W30 , but that doesn't mean Shell doesn't make it . Shell does make the Rotella T 15W40 , they also have a synthetic 15W40 if you wamt to go that way . The best price I've found on Rotell has been at Wally World .
