Straight axle conversion
I am in the process of swapping out the T.T.B drive axle on a 88 Ranger in favor of a Dana 44. Has anyone personally performed this task? I'd appreciate any info. on leaf spring rate, curvature, length, placement, steering geometry and type etc... Any info. would be much appreciated but in about 4 weeks from 9/23/99 I should have figured it out for myself and any one else if interested. Thanks.

Straight axle conversion
I've done some extensive research on this subject. So far i have aquired a 76 bronco d-44. This axel is as close as you'll find to the rangers width(VERY close). It's damn near a bolt in deal. You can even keep your factory coil springs buckets. The only fab work is radius arm mounts and the track bar mount off the frame and some minor steering work.
