Harmonic Damper Removal
Harmonic Damper Removal
Trying to change jumped timing belt when I ran into a obstacle, the harmonic balancer. In trying to remove it, the out ring seperated from the inner hub (Ie; rubber lining seperated), now I still have a half a harmonmic damper pulley on crank and all methods and tools have failed to remove it? I've tried heat, two different size Pulleys, and numerous instruments of perswasion, it wint budge any ideas?
Harmonic Damper Removal
Since the thing is shot anyway, why not try to "cut" it off. Slice whats left down to about 1/8" from the crank in a "V", then take a good chisel and try to tap into the "V" and get it to stress crack the rest of the way down to the crank. This way you can save the crank and open up some space to slide it off. Don't know if this will work or not, but if all else fails? A dremel tool with the cut-off wheels and some time/effort might get it for Ya. Good luck, Chuck P.
