I have a 1993 E 350 dually with a bad rear end. It is a dana 70 w/drum brakes. I can buy a 1999 E 350 rear end. It is a dana 70 w/disc brakes. What changes do I have to make to the brake lines to make the disc brakes work right? Thanks
First thing needed would be the proportioning valve as discs require a lot less pressure than drums. I dont know if the MC is different. As far as lines they should be the same but go under a 99 to be sure.
If possible get all you need, except lines, from the donor.
I have the dually dana (spicer) 70 HD rear end on my '96 E 350SD, w/drums, 67K
mileage. Plan to reduce weight, swap out to single rear wheels(non-Bud). If
staying with drum brakes is easier, this one is 4.10 ratio, 9.75, axle code E2 90.
Found a few leads on single wheel axles, but should plan to sell the dually, what
state? Any interest? Post back, I'm flexible. Ladder Frame Guy.
