20+ inches of snow.....and this Dawg Hunts like it's hungry for more!!!
Not the first 4x4 I've owned...(actually I've got an '00 Exploder and a '96 Tacoma, each 4x4 as well) but this '04 FX4 gets with it better than most I've ever owned for sure....
Makes even an older feller look for drifts to challenge.
I've noticed that too. I have had several older Ford 150's and a 250 once and none of them eat for traction like this one. Of course these things are heavy, mine is a reg. cab 4x4 with a flareside bed and it weighs 5300 lbs. I went through a couple of drifts that were that deep or deeper and it went fine. There was one across my driveway that I tried that when the truck came to a stop I got out and looked (it was shedding snow over the hood) and when I cleared off to see where it leveld off it was at the Ford emblem. I figured it was stuck but I backed out, gave her a good run and powered on through. I am amazed at the traction of this truck, I have had to go check things in fields and this truck goes like no tomorrow, most of the time I can go in 2wd (which i have done just to see if I can do it) but most of the time I have it locked in so I WON'T get stuck, a 2 mile walk in knee deep or deeper snow doesn't sound to appealing.
FORD definetly got their stuff together on this truck when it comes to off road usage.
