Playin' in the snow !

Well, did anyone here in Tennessee get out in all the snow, sleet and freezing rain yesterday and last night ? The wife and I went our cruising for about 3 hours last night and had a blast. Never once stopped at a stop sign or red light all night !! Slicker than owl stuff for the cars and trucks but the ole Bronco never slipped unless I wanted it to slip. Dang good feeling. I hit a few hills where cars were everywhere on the road and I just cruised on up. Even saw a few non-Ford 4X4's stuck ! Go FORD !

Have fun...

PS: I guess I got carried away because we normally don't get anything slick around here. I think that there were quiet a few other states that got snow etc... so this question is not only for folks in Tn.

i love to play in the snow, yesterday we got over 6" and windy overnight. i like to go out behind the mall where they dont plow. i get better traction with 4wd using barely legal tread-depth a/t tires than the taurus does with brand-new rubber. made a 4wd beleiver out of the wife, was driving around last night and turned the 4wd off for a while, what a difference. right now the most challenging driving is just getting out of the trailer park. it is fun watching the 2wd full-size vans though.

We got about 10 inches of snow here in Louisville, and another 3 inches of ice/sleet. My wife and I had plans to have our whole family over this afternoon to celebrate Christmas, but everyone started calling this AM saying they couldn't get their cars out of their driveways. So, I did the only thing a self respecing Bronco driver could do: I saddled up the Bronco, slapped in my Elvis Christmas CD, and drove all over town picking up family and taking them back to my place for dinner and presents. Man, you haven't lived until you have seen your 65 year old mother bouncing around in the front seat of a Bronco while your plowing through a foot of ice and snow! While I was out, I even stopped to push a nice young couple out of a median where they got stuck in there car. The new 31" mudders I put on about a month ago paid off BIG TIME today! I was throwin snow like nobodys business!

Broncos RULE!

That is one of the things I miss the most from my bronco...the awesome performance in snow and ice. That thing was a tank. Oh well, just have to save up some $ and look for another one....

Yeah, I've been out having a lot of fun in the snow... gotta love living in a lake effect snow belt next to Lake Michigan, we have about 18 inches of the stuff. Yesterday I was out playing in a field doing donuts I really love the way the bronco handles in the snow, beats anything else I've ever driven. I'll maybe use this thread as an excuse to go out again and play, and take the camera with this time

It ain't the snow that rusts our trucks up here, its the stupid road salt they use to get rid of it. Believe me, I'd rather drive on plain ole snow anyday over the grease slick, metal eating slush that road salt makes.
