Second thoughs about baldwin filter setup?
(I don't have a 100 hp chip but thats the most I would likely ever do.)
As I was doing a test fit (turns out I will need some 4 inch tubing) I noticed the stock filter pulls air through the fenderwell. I couldn't help but think I was going a step backward using the baldwin filter since it will pull in engine compartment air. Any thoughts?
yes the balwid sucks air from your engine compartment, but if you look at where you stock on pulls air from it is right up front, could get some nice cold, fresh air. but look at it with the hood closed, that snorkel is about a 1/2 inch from your hood, i doubt that there is much air comin in there anyway with that tiny space between the snorkel and the hood. if your truck has an intercooler the little extra heat in the air realy wont matter anyway. Mine LOVES the baldwin filter and Ihave no intercooler so I realy dont think the heated air from the engine compartment realy matters.
