Got Predator / EGT question

I just ordered a Predator, but haven't ordered a EGT gauge yet. I'm taking a trip & plan on setting the truck up on Economy mode for mileage. I'm going 400 miles across Texas (relative flat) to New Mexico & not towing anything. Do I have to anything to worry about?

Thanks,
Larry

Larry,
Do you have any other mods to the truck? Like exhaust or intake? I would tell you wait till you have the gauges first as it is an expensive repair if you get it too hot. If you intend to use it anyway do not hot rod it as it is real easy to get it hot quick.

I have no other mods as yet. I'm planning on putting in a Tymar Intake. I had planned on replacing the exhaust later this year. I bought the Predator because of the sale & I'd really wanted the mileage increase.

I'm thinking of going with the Hog Full Boar w/ 4" down pipe or the Hog Performance setup. Any thoughts?

I hope you have better luck than I did. ( I mean with Mileage) I tried at lower 2 settings. milage dropped, remover it & it went back to where it was. performance wise, you will love it. Takes will power to drive it normal, you'll always what to plant your foot down.

Some have not done any mods and run the 56HP mode fine....
I did just a turbo back exhaust and have not had an issue in 11 months and over 30K miles....

Stayed with the stock intake for a couple of reasons...
1) it is pretty good...
2) not many valid proofs of anything aftermarket being better
3) the Ford dudes said No Intake changes !!!

And I've been pleased with the either increase in MPG if I drive reasonablly (which I don't usually)
OR staying the same mpg with the great increase in power....

Not that I'm checking mpg on an 8K lb BUS... but would say 16 mpg araound DFW.... and as much as 21 on the road when I REALLY milked it and kept it under 2K for 400 miles....
