dull dash lights

the dash lights on my 86 are not very bright, yes I turned the light switch up lol, but they seem quite dull, could this be the switch? thanks Randy

Some guys have replaced the headlight switch, and said it made them brighter. Also others have messed with the colored dash covers in the instrument cluster itself, and made them brighter. I am starting to hear that a lot of these year (80-86) trucks had this problem.
