It won't lock.....I hit the key pad to lock the doors, it locks.....then unlocks itself. At deer camp last weekend (killed a 200# hawg by the way 
) we watched the Exp sit and lock and unlock itself. Next morning I poured coke on the positive battery terminal to clean crud off thinking maybe that was contributing to the problem......didn't change a thing. What's failing on the system?

If you lock your door with the key fob,but still have a set of keys in the ignition, the system is designed to unlock the doors automatically to prevent accidental lockouts. I think the system operates this way rather the vehicle is running or not. I think if you use the keypad on the outside of the door, it overrides the auto unlock feature. You may need to read your owners manual for all the details.

This is a 99 Eddie Bauer, nice package (loaded) and haven't had a problem from day one. Locking with the remote keypad is done without a key in ignition.....I'm due for service at the Ford dealer, I'll let you know what I learn.
