Have to force shift into gear

Gear shifting on my 93 4X4 5 spd suddenly became difficult. In a few days it went from difficult to impossible. I took it to a garage who said my master cylinder was empty. They filled it and bled the lines and it seemed to work fine. 3 days later the problem started again and this time there is fluid in the cylnder, to the proper level. The clutch and throw out bearing are only 20,000 miles old, probem does not "grind" gears, problem disappears when the engine is turned off. Any ideas would be sorely appreciated.
Thanks

I would think that since you can change gears with the engine off, that would indicate that the problem is still in your clutch, or possibly the synchronizers. Can you shift into 1st or reverse without difficulty if you are at a stop?

With those symtoms I would say it still has air in the system and isn't disengaging completely. I would re-bleed it.
