I'm originally from the little tiny town of Greentown, IN - just east of Kokomo. Shouldn't be far from where 99 xlt 4x4 lives. Sounds like he is close to kokomo. But now I live in INdianapolis, on the northwest side.
Welcome guys. Have you joined the Chapter? There is a link right below where is says Indiana chapter on the main forum page. Please join up and post often.
I live in Homeplace---on the Northside of Indy, just south of Carmel.
Been in this area around 31 years---grew up in Kokomo... JR
You might be LIVING in Carmel before you know it ... if it weren't for Noblesville and Fishers, I think Hizzoner Jim Brainard would just annex all of Hamilton County.
Mr. Hailstone---I think you are right about the infamous Mr. Brainard... My heart is
in Rural America, hope to get there one day... And Chris, I just made my official
request to join... JR
I m out your way every day..I travel Rte.231,and 43 every day..sometimes twice a day...I go to Crawfordsville every morning and evening, driving a Webster Truck...If you see my when you are out honk at me..
Wayne,,,
Logansport....about an hour straight up 421/29 from the north side of 465. "Armpit of America" lol Got a '90 F150 XLT Lariat...
I probably go right by your house every time I go home from college! I live in Culver, so I take 17-29/421 all the way down to Indy. it's a nicer road with more scenery than 31. one thing I want to know is how do you logansport guys FIND anything in there? if I get off the main road, I get hopelessly turned around. reminds me of the song "Hotel California" - you can NEVER leave!
Hey there shortymac83...you're not too far from my house when ya go through! Kind of ironic...when I was going to Lincoln Tech in Indy one of best buddies was from Culver. Used to go up there and hang out alot on weekends. That was back in the mid-seventies though. I tried to locate him a while back but had no luck. (if you know anyone with the last name Young up there, send me a PM...lol)
I suppose since I grew up around here that getting around Logan seems simple to me. Actually, once you understand how the town's laid out it's no big deal. My wife moved up here from Frankfort and was totally lost for a while, but she caught on quick. The worst thing is all the freakin' one-way streets! What a pain! I'd probably be just as lost in Culver nowadays.
if you ever need any custom machine work, just wander up to Culver and look for my dad at Lakeside Auto Supply. He'll make you anything you want. Just mention that you know his son, and he'll probably throw in a deal for ya as well.
and there are a lot of youngs...pm me with his first name, I might know him or one of his kids...
