Talk about out in the STICKS! In the middle of Pigeon River Fish & Wildlife Area (IDNR) - approx. 18,000 acres....WOW! Now that's LOST!!!!!! A common T-shirt sold here - Where the He** is Mongo, IN.?
Hoss and Black Dog....
P.S.
A Poll - Now how many of you have heard of here?!
I too remember Mongo from Blazing Saddles! It really does exist in Indiana - Up here in the sticks! It is pretty much like the T-shirt says! HUH!
As far as I'm concerned - It is the best place to be in the world! Mongo - Born & Raised! And this is where I'll raise my own children!
Kinda prejudice though too as far as my little town goes! Can Ya Tell?
Chat with you all later, Hoss and Black Dog....
Hoss6.9: Welcome to FTE!! Honestly, I dont think Chris_ce is old enough to have seen blazing saddles, unless he borrowed it from his older brother who probally has it on beta! He might be though!
When I saw Mongo In. I had to dig deep in the memory files as I know I have been there, just could'nt place it. When I saw it on the map, it all came back.
Right down the street from Brighten, I used to deliver to the mushroom plant back in the 70's and one of the girls employed there lived in Mongo. Nice town, small, very hard to hide a tractor-trailer. Ah the memories!
Anyway, now that I got that figured out I can sleep tonight. Stop back often and enjoy the company!
I do appreciate it! Yep - your right. The mushroom farm is just up the road a little ways. My family owned the sawmill here in town for 50 yrs.+ and we supplied all of the lumber for their growing trays up there for at least 30 yrs.
Campbell's hasn't owned it now for at least a dozen or so+- yrs. It has changed hands at least four times now. It is currently owned by Money's from Canada and as of within the next few days to the end of the month it will be shut down. Filed bankruptsy? I guess. They have a majority workforce of mexicans up there and they have been leaving on a steady basis to look for other work. And also - Brighton is also just up the road a ways too! Good to be out here in the sticks! Ya know! Didn't catch it. Where are you located? Your right! It can be difficult to find a hiding spot for the rig sometimes! I have about 4 acres here at my place - basically downtown - right next door "to the south" of the Vol. Fire Dept. and just around the corner to the north at my mom's place (where the sawmill used to be), she has about 15 acres. Which is where we'll move to sometime in the hopefully distant future. She has life lease from us. So I can find a place to hide it - If need be! Sometimes when things are slow (like now). You have to keep the neighbors on their toes and go hide. So you can make the local competition think your as busy as a beaver! Sorry so long winded! I'll shut up NOW!
Talk at Ya Later! Hoss and Black Dog....
