Somebody metioned Harbor Freight. I personally would stay away from them unless you need tools that are disposable. Their hand tools are very weak. Didn't know they sold the Drill Dr.. Or is theirs a cheap imitation? Just my 2 cents. Hope I don't get banned from HF now. Randy
It seems to me like I did see genuine drill doctors @ HF the last time I was there, I didn't look to see if it was a reman. or new. They do have some name brand reman. stuff there. Greg
I bought the cheap $40 model that works off your drill, it will not handle any of the drill bits I use for metal working, it just rips up the paper drum without getting an edge. Probably fine for hss bits used for wood working.
To those who own the drill doctor; How do you adjust the angle? I've been wondering before I would buy one as I have/use both 118 and 135 degree split point bits. I would like to keep their angles.
Maybe Santa will bring me one. I have a cheapy drill sharpener you attach to your bench grinder but it doesn't work worth a damn. Not worth the 15 bucks I paid for it certainly.
Can't say thank you all often enough for the replies and the humor from this site. I have been looking at these for over a year now (just grew up knowing everyone used a grinder and it takes a lot of practice) but the only people I know that have them, don't like them. I am not sure what models they have (it is a door manufacturing company) but I think they bought the smaller ones. That just didn't make sense to me as different materials do better at different angles. I may have to see what they have and if they really don't like it, make an offer.
