Questions on '04 Expy

My wife and I just got a new '04 Eddie Bauer Expedition. I have a couple of questions that I didn't see any answers to when I searched through the topics on here.

1) We have the dual climate controls system on the A/C. Is there any way to program the controller so that the recirculation button will stay on when you turn the car off and back on?

2) When driving home tonite with the heat on, we had the recirculation button on. After about 5-10 minutes, it would turn off automatically. Is there something wrong with it or is this normal?

3) Has anyone had any problems with their power seats? The forward/reverse funtion seems to lock up accasionally not letting you move the seat back and forth. You can still move the seat up and down, but no other way.

Thanks for the help.

OK, sig added. I can't figure out how to change the title of the thread to put the '04 in the beginning. Questions still apply.

My 03 Expy had the same problem with the power seat. I was told the motor was bad and had to be replaced. (under warranty)

While the recirculation mode offers some advantages (cutting off outside air when driving in a malodorous area, recirculating cooled air through the A/C system while in A/C mode, thus providing cooler air more quickly throughout the cabin) the mode offers some disadvantages in that noxious fumes cannot be easily cleared from the cabin unless the mode is changed or a window is rolled down. Having the recirc mode automatically kick off after a period of time is intentional and essentially a safety and comfort feature.

Plus, it builds humidity up in the vehicle even when running AC....well that's what they say...

So in order of questions...

1. No.
2. Normal. What mode did you have the air vents in? ie foot, foot/face, face only... ?
3. Never had any problems with my seat.

power seat issues in '04 EB

Hello,
I just wanted to let you know that I am having a terrible time with my drivers side power seat in my new 04 EB expy. I have taken it in to the dealer, since they could not duplicate it, there was nothing they would do. It has been a week now since, and it is still just quits working periodically. I am not sure what to do. I got in after my husband had driven the other day, and could not get the seat to move forward enough. I adjusted the gas and brake as high up as I could, and still had a problem. Personally, I feel like this is a safety issue. I called again, and the service advisor just blew me off. I am going to get my husband involved now since they are probably not treating me properly due to the fact I am a woman. I will let you know if they figure it out. I am just afraid if it works again when they have my car that they will do nothing.

This sounds like the exact same problem we are having. Let me know what they say.

Thanks.
