New trans?
Just posted a topic about my fan, and figured I'd add this for some input while I was here =D
I have 1987 F-150 302 w/ 4speed Manual w/ Granny 1st.
The transfer case has been worked on and replaced, and worked on some more and replaced, and even welded...and it's always breaking no matter what. I was told the old granny low trannies had more torque than it could handle and that problems with the transfer case were normal. I don't like the transmission anyway, and was thinking of switching to a regular 5speed Manual. Just curious how doable this is, any problems I might run into, and if this will fix my goofy transfer case problem anyway =D
