Transmission ID Help!!

I need to put a clutch in my 89 F-150 4X4 and haven't figured out which 5 speed trans I have. How do you tell the difference between the Mazda and the ZF transmissions?
The only ID tag I can find reads E9TA BA 645552. Does this mean anything to anybody?

Thanks.

I have an 89 F-150 4X4 with a 5 speed. The bigger writing on the tag of mine says E9TA BA and it has the Mazda M5OD. While you have the tranny out, it would be a good idea to replace the 3 rubber plugs on the back of the shift cover. Hope this is helpful.

The plugs are on the back side of the shift cover on the top of the trans. The rubber plugs are a dealer-only item. There are several posts on this forum about about this subject. I followed the advice of a couple of local tranny shops and they both said not to remove the top cover when replacing the rubber plugs. They went in a little hard, but it worked fine. They also recommended to put 'em in dry. There is also a tech article on replacing the plugs in the tech section.
