Have a '93 Ranger I use for work, 2.3L and 5spd trans, just over 100,000 miles. I have no idea of the repair history of the truck. Has a thing it does, acts like the clutch won't disengage fully when the pedal is depressed to the floor.Seems most apparent when the truck is on an incline, but could be my imagination there. Most always when it is stopped, but sometimes rolling too. If I get it into 1st or reverse juuuust before it stops rolling is ok, but if all else fails I have to shut the engine off to get 1st or reverse, a joy at stoplights!! No signs of any slippage, no chattering. Is this an adjustable condition?? Truck seems solid and does not indicate abuse, this is the only problem it has whatsoever.
Thank you for any help!!

two things and i'd try the first one first because it's cheaper. since you don't know the history, bleed the clutch fluid with new stuff. the old fluid might not be able to provide the required pressure. second, since it does have 100,000mi, the clutch could be worn out. if that's the case...it'll run you a few hundred $'s.

hope this helps,

Ic,
Thanx for the advice! Not sure if it is worn out, at 35mph in 5th it doesn't slip, but maybe could affect shift quality. I also wondered about the t/o bearing......

it's possible, but usually the other way around: you go in to replace clutch cuz it's failed and just change t/o bearing while you're in there...keep us posted.
