Ever use electical rust prevention?

I couldn't really figure out what section to put this under, and I wanted to ask everyone, so here's my question:

Have you ever used, or known someone who used, an electronic rust prevention system on their vehicle?

(here are a few such systems)
http://www.smartautosales.com/rust_protection.htm
http://www.actionimports.com.au/erps.htm

If so, what was your interpretation of the system?

My boss has a system called a 'rust buster' on an old nissan that seems to be doing the job.

There again, in searching the internet for links to provide here, I found:
""RUST EVADER" DOES NOT LIVE UP TO NAME, FTC ALLEGES:
Asks Law Judge to Prohibit Use of Brand Name"
http://www.ftc.gov/opa/1995/9508/rustevad.htm

Some of the products' web pages list testimonials from cars that the owners described as being only 4 to 5 years old, and I think I'd rather hear from owners of 10-year-old vehicles and their rust-prevention recommendations.

What's your take?

Seems to me that the entire frame on American cars is part of the electrical circuit and so any added electrical device would not matter. (Do Japanese cars still use complete wire circuits?) How about the anode/cathode method where you put a sacrifical anode on a metal object. This is where dis-similar metals will actually set up an electrical difference and cause one of the metals to rust instead of the other. I believe this is used in hot water tanks and is also (I have read) the principal in galvanized steel (the zinc coating rusts instead of the steel). This also is why you use a special grease to join copper and aluminum wiring together. If there is enough interest, I can try to find the info and post this stuff more accurately, including the table of metals and which will rust more than others when in combination.

As for other anti-rust methods, only thing I can think of is that in Colorado they put sand on the roads and cars don't seem to rust much, but here in Michigan they dump tons of salt all over the roads and it ruins thousands of cars.

It's entropy. That steel is unstable. It always wants to revert to the raw ore it came from. Rust is basically combustion--the steel is burning up--but as such a slow rate there is no flame. Ahhhhh. Help, my truck is on fire!

I have a system on my tbird I got used. Not real sure what kind it is though. I was told it was put on at the dealership when the car was new (at top dolar I'm sure). It's a 96 and has zero rust. Car just flipped 30 thou though so I am not sure if the lack of miles or the unit is the real cause of not having any rust. Will know in a few years I guess.
