Light Prob
I have a 98 3.0 V6 Ranger and at night when you have your headlights on bright for the first time since start-up and turn them down to dim, the lights completely cut out except for the parking lights until you put them back on brights real fast and turn them back to dims...any other time and they work fine. This has only happened twice, very strange. Was wondering what the problem may be!

Multifunction Switch
Removal
µ 1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
µ 2. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder.
1 Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch lock cylinder and turn to the RUN position.
2 Push the ignition switch lock cylinder release tab with a punch while pulling out the ignition switch lock cylinder.
µ 3. If equipped, remove the tilt wheel handle.
µ 4. Remove the upper and lower steering column shrouds.
1 Remove the screws.
2 Remove the upper and lower steering column shrouds.
µ 5. Remove the multi-function switch.
1 Remove the screws.
2 Disconnect the electrical connectors.
3 Remove the multi-function switch.
Installation
µ 1. Note:
When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn its strategy.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
