alright... i dont know what it is but the f2 seems way off the ground compared to the F1... yet there is only 3 or 4 inches betweend the leaf and the bump stop on the F2.... is there any reason for this? this problem with my F2 being to high is really starting to bother me. HELP!!
I have an F3 and with a few springs out and a reverse eye setup I have 7" from the running boards to the ground. I also only have 2" of travel in the front springs. If you are looking at the wheel wells the opening is physically bigger on the F2 and F3.
ive heard about the wheel wells being bigger... noticed it really when i had my f1 next to it... but i was talking more of the whole front end is so much higher than the f1
The truck had to sit higher from the factory to accomidate the taller tires they were around 32" tall from the factory. It also need more travel for the extra load capacity. The reverse eye springs will lower the front about 1.5". On my 1950 F3 the reverse eye leaf for the F1 bolted right up to the front. The rear springs are different on the F3 not sure about the F2. When you do that you will have to take out the leaf just below the main leaf. It is to long and will get int he way. I also removed the shorter leafs not every other one. Not sure how it is going to work on the road but I was after a softer pring rate and I figured the shorter leafs did not have much spring. I can always put them back in if need be.
alright here a before and after... i pulled 4 springs then took the second to smallest and flipped it upside down and placed it on top...
the before
and after... the stance it a little better... flipping the one upside down seemed to stiffen it alot too.. which is good with a 1/2'' wheel well clearance.

Three to four inches between the leaf and bump stop is a lot. My stock F-1 has only 1 1/4 inches gap with no mods. The F-2 has probably more leaves up front (my F-3 did) also. I'd consider replacing the front fenders with F-1 fenders to lessen the gap over the tires. It will take a pretty big tire up front to get rid of the gap with those F-2 fenders...bigger than you want to run. I will be running a 225-75/R15 on my F-3 with a Chrysler T-bar suspension.
not sure what size tires they are... havnt checked yet. but they are pretty small compared to what problay came stock on them.. and i will problay be going smaller, not by much though
I put some pictures in the gallery, I think my F3 is stock height. It has 17" wheels but maybe you can compare to yours. The F3 has an extra set of springs in the back, so maybe it's higher.
I like the height because I can work under the truck with a creeper and no jackstands needed!
its looking pretty good, yea im just big on having things lower. but i still have some of the frame of the f1 that i hacked up so i realized im just going to swap leafs out instead of taking the ones off of the one on the truck now.
