OK guys....I'm new to this board so don't flame me too badly!
I need to know if the NEW Superchip 1715 is usable on two different vehicles at the same time. Can I flash the computer on my '02 screw and then do my '00 V10 SD or does the unit have to stay with the truck?
It saves the stock program, then uploads the superchip program. You cannot do two vehicles at once. They would not make any money that way.Now you can return one vehicle to stock and do another if the tuner will work for the second truck. Two at once, no.
Is it sensible to flip flop the chips from one to another? How long is the install/setup process for each truck? My V10 SD has 14,000 miles and never has seen bad weather. (show truck). But, when I go to the shows, I want just a little more. I have the headers, H-pipe and exhaust done and a Jet chip (that I hate) that really does nothing but require me to use premium fuel.
I'm running 44" tires, 456 gears, ARB lockers. My '02 screw is my DD. It has the FIPK and nothing more. I just want to wake it up some.
The tuner is not a chip,it plugs in the diagnostic port under the steering column.Takes about 10-15 mins.Make sure you unplug the fuel pump fuse under the hood,#19 on my 2000.If it covers your second vehicle i do not see how it would harm anything, plug it in and it will ask if you want to return to stock-yes/no.It is real simple. You can raise shift points, shift firmness, plus put the superchip tune which requires premium fuel.
