Question Remove footwell boards from middle bench?

The velcro staps holding up the covering boards for the footwells on the back of the middle seat do not hold! Has any one just removed these on their Excursion or is there a better solution?

I had mine replaced under warranty about a month ago. Just a poor design as they will probably go bad in another 2-3 years!

On mine the ford dealer removed covers and resewed the velcro so they matched up.

I completley removed them and it works great. Very simple to do and even gives a couple of extra inches of leg room to the third seat!

Not sure what the underlying problem is, but is the velcro full of debris of one sort or another? Velcro is pretty indestructable but if it gets full of dirt or debris, it won't hold as well.

Haven't ever had this problem but I'm wondering if you can clean it? Carpet shampoo, vacuum and/or lint roller, etc?
