Hey, I talked to my service manager today and told them I was coming Thursday for an oil change (only since it's 50% off) and that they should just ignore the EGR plug, because it may fall off at any time. Really, I have not unplugged it, I just wanted to see what they said. They agreed that if it was unplugged and I wanted service done that they would ignore any codes from the EGR. Now, I don't know if that's such a good thing because if there was a problem, they would not be able to differentiate between legitimate codes and codes that came from me disconnecting the EGR valve. But, it's nice to know that if I talk to them about things they will work with common sense and not be such hard noses as I have heard many people here complain about. The next thing is to talk to them about Predators, Exhaust mods, and Banks kits on Thursday.. They did say today when I told them that I was looking at gauges that, "gauges don't mean you are doing something wrong like chipping, just that you want to monitor your engine, chipping is obvious; if the computer shows that you have disconnected your batteries four times in the last month, there is something odd going on and can be traced to it's source, so don't worry, we won't harrass you about any gauges". So, I don't know how they feel, but I am going to talk to them Thursday about high performance mods. and just how much they will look the other way, since they don't care about the EGR after all.

I hope your dealer is telling you the truth but I would say BE WARY of telling them too much. I have had a couple of dealers say certain things only to find what they told Ford and wrote in OASIS to be completely different from what they told me. You might get the straight scoop from the tech, I have found most really don't give a rats butt about what Ford thinks but, when you get to the service writer and mgr it is a very different ball game. The thing I try to remember with them is I don't have to try and deny anything later if I don't admit anything now. Think of it this way, let's say you talk to them about mods now and 6 months from now your turbo blows, don't think that they won't remember the conversation and be thinking whatever........ I am not saying you can't trust them at all, just be careful.
Why Add Regurgitated Trash. And as such should be removed.
For our 6.0 diesels it is merely an EPA compliance vehicle (pun intended). The re-introduction of soot, carbon, unburned fuels to our delicate high tech, multiple computer systems creates more problems than it solves. May actually introduce, to the atmosphere, more bad stuff, in greater volumes, when it fails.
In addition, it is the suspected culprit in a number of 6.0 engine / turbo issues.
It does seem that those of us who have a difficult time keeping ours plugged in have fewer problems.
And that's the truff...Life rule # 10,321 according to kw5413.
When I have more time I will let you guys know how I really feel.
