My truck just turned 20K miles. It is smoking a little at idle "something New" but the airfilter minder has not moved? Are the Clog-O-indicator's working? Or are they like the one's on the older trucks, (worthless). Where did you get your replacement filter? Cost?? Thanks.
I can't call $60 + dollars cheep insurance. $20 maybe? $10, sure, change it every oil change.
Yeh, thats true $60 would make me run it 10,000 or more - didn't pay attention enough to see you had the 6.0 Diesel. I run a 6.8L V10 and can get a good WIX filter for about $10-$12. This is why I change mine every few oil changes. I also change my oil and filter every 2K since it only costs $12 and my fuel filter every 12K miles. It's cheap insurance for me and is part of the reason I purchaced a V10 instead of a diesel. I also only put on 7-10K miles a year so what the heck!!
I had to do mine while in Memphis over Thanksgiving...
$89 at a Oil Change place on Germantown...
but it did last for over 40K miles without any loss of performance and REALLY didn't "look" bad when he pulled it off...
I Change Mind Every Other Oil Change, I Change The Oil And Filter Every 3k And Then Both Fuel Filters And Air Filter Every 6k :-x22
03 F350 6.0 Diesel 4x4
i just ordered a new one for my truck and will just replace it. the 6.0 has the most pain in the butt filter to replace. its not that easy to just pop the top and look at the filter.
