LAST EDITED ON 03-Nov-00 AT 09:41 PM (EST)[p]I have a '87 2.9L,4x4 Ranger w/31 10.5's on her and she needs a locker in the rear end. I would like to know if they make a "Easy Locker" or a "Lock Rite" for the 7.5 rear end, where to get one and how much. Also if anyone has one of these are they worth the money. I know how well the Detroit Lockers work because I have one in my full size but I am new to all this little stuff. Also has anyone had any problems with the hydraulic lifters collapsing in these engines. Mine taps a little when you first fire her up. Thanks for any advice.
I recently rebuilt my front and rear gears...I put in 4:56 gear set and also a limited slip diff. I don't know if your planning on changing gears but heres the info on mine in case you do.I got them from Fourwheel Parts Wholesalers. They guarentee the lowest price out there.
( www.4wheelparts.com ) The cost on the rear gears is $139.95, the front ones would be $184.95, the rear limited slip from Auburn would be $379.95. the master install kits needed for all this would be $85.00 for the rear and $79.95 and if you don’t have a 3.73 gear ratio or higher you will need to replace the carrier and the cost on that would be $89.95. The labor for the fornt was about $350.00 and the labor for the rear was about $250.00
Hope that helps....Steve
