Well folks, my 04 xcab Lariat has been given back to the dealer.
(lemon buy back) And I am driving an 05 Screw Lariat (loaner) that does not have the audiophile, If I keep this truck I want my audiophile transfered from the 04 to this truck. So the question is, can it be swaped from the 04 into the 05, is all the wiring there, and how about the door speakers, are they the same for the single AM/FM CD and the audiophile? Any info or advice will be greatly appreaciated!

as far as I know, the Front door speakers are not the same. The regular stereo just has 6x8's in the lower front doors. The Audiophile also adds a tweeter up higher in the door. If you take your front speaker grills off, you'll see the hole for the tweeter if you don't have Audiophile.
As far as wiring, you have to check out 2 places. First is under the back seat, near the driver's side rear seat bracket you should find a "slit" or hole in the carpet. Reach in that hole and see if you find a wiring harness plug. If so, that plug is for the amp/subwoofer. If no plug, then you can't hook up the Audiophile. Second, if you do have the plug under the rear seat, then also remove the head unit in the dash to check if the 3rd plug is there for the subwoofer. In non-Audiophile trucks, it is taped back on the main radio harness with a dummy connector plugged into it.
If you have both those plugs, then you can transfer it over. Make sure you use the Audiophile head unit too.
I have the muliple 6 cd changer not audiophile and I have the 6x8 in the front doors with the stand alone tweeter, and base 6x8 in the rear door. Think that is the difference between the unit that only takes 1 CD and the 6 cd changer. You will notice when configuring on the Ford site you have to add the option for audiophile ready to get the 6 cd changer. Otherwords no sub but everything else.
So my question should have been do you have the single player or 6cd player.
Thanks everyone, I have taken another look at the 05 loaner,(single CD) and it does not appear to have the rear speakers, tweeters, or the wiring for the sub. so I guess I'm sol. But I will def push my dealer for a free upgrade!! Wish me luck.
does anyone know if the 2005 mustang shaker1000 system with 6disc and mp3 will work in the f-150. the plug-ins as far as i can tell look exactly the same. i'd kill for mp3 capability 6 disc just is'nt enough sometime. People are selling them on ebay already and i'd rather know before i buy one

I checked behind my back seat and found the slit in the carpet. The slit is small and my hands are kinda big so when I reached in the slit I found a wire bundle but could only pull a loop out. I did'nt want to pull too hard and I dont want to take the seat out unless I have to. Since I have the wire is it safe to assume there is a plug on the end somewhere? If your answer is yes then I will pull the head unit and check for the 3rd plug. Can you tell me how to get to the head unit ?
Mike, that should be the amp plug. My truck didn't have it so I went with an aftermarket sub and amp. But based on others who found the plug, you should be able to find a plug on the end of that wire bundle.
To get to the radio, you have to remove the trim piece around it and the HVAC controls. On my FX4 with console shifter, I opened up the ash tray door and starting pulling the trim piece from the bottom and worked my way up. It's held on by 6 clips or so. Then disconnect the air bag light for some more room. Then you take the radio out, 4 bolts hold that in. Then check along the large main harness that plugs into the radio, you most likely will have the 3rd extra plug for the Audiophile system taped to it somewhere. I think it is a 4-wire plug and might be gray in color.
That sounds like the harness. Once you get the harness out you'll see how it doubled back on itself under the carpet and had those plastic push pins holding the harness down. It takes alot to pull it out.
^no, I think you're looking under the wrong seat. Power seat harness is under the driver's front seat. If you're looking for the Amp wiring, then you might find it under the rear seat (Scab or Screw only). The slit in the carpet is next to the rear seat bracket towards the driver's side (left side) of the truck.

i don't see that it would be the power sliding rear window wiring but the wire i found is clamped down something fierce. did anyone elses have a clamp and i can't get my fingers in there enough without ripping the carpet to see if there is a connector. i have most of the loop pulled out but don't want to tug on it in case there's something else wired in the bundle and my luck i'd rip the wire
