Speedometer cable match ups

Hi y'all, I was wondering if a speedometer cable from a newer ford PU would screw onto the back of my guage reader inside the cab? If so how high in years can I go before they change the thread and size? Thank you.

They changed the design from a screw on type to a snap on type that's a pain somewhere around 1973 on the trucks.
