First of, I have this fixed, I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I bought a RF 9020 deck and was trying to install it in my truck. I could get it to power up, but could not get any sound out of it. When I looked at the factory wiring harness that plugged into the old deck had 9 wires: 8 speaker wires and a 9th, unprotected wire (no plastic cover). What does this wire do? Is it somekind of external ground maybe? I was competely baffled by this and wound up pulling all the speakers out to see what colours the speaker wires were, cut them and ran new wire from the deck to the cut. Everything wound up working perfectly, it just took about 4 hours longer than I had hoped, because we were putting my subs in as well, so the amp had to be wired in. Anyway, just wondering if anyone can tell me what that wire would have been for, and if anyone else has had trouble with it.

P.S.
If anyone knows of a company that makes a sub box contoured to the floor of a 94 ext. cab, that'd be great.
Q-Logic makes underseat sub boxs. You can look on 12volt.com for the wiring question. I always run new wires to start with to avoid the problems you just had anyways. It takes longer but you know it's all new.
I have the same problem right now. I bought the wiring harness adapter and wired everything properly to my Clarion stereo. Everything lights up and works, but no sound at all! Why?
There were 3 wires not connected. Two orange ones on the harness side and one brown one on the deck side.
Is there something else that I have to do to get this to work?
