Hubs broken?

It snowed yesterday so I figured I would try out my 4wd. I went to an unplowed lot, locked the hubs, then shifted into 4hi. I stomped on the gas, stuck my head out the window, and the front tires didnt spin. I unlocked the hubs, put it into 2wd, the turned the front driveshaft by hand. Then put it into 4hi again, locked the hubs, tried to turn the driveshaft again, it seemed engaged. Couldnt turn it. I am figuring the hubs are bad. Could I be right?

Is the front diff open. Maybe the passenger side was spinning but not the drivers side.

The front diff is open. The front drivers wheel should spin. Was driving up a snowy hill, it was definately not working.
