Which will be easier, pop the rivets out then use #8 bolts or undo the spring and shocks to let the arm swing down to replace the bushings. 1996 F-150 4x4 left front.
What I'm planning on doing is taking my truck to a muffler shop and having them torch off the rivets and replace them with grade 8 stuff. Then when I get home I can just unbolt everything and replace the bushings.
Even if you go with the shock/spring method, you're still probably going to have to at least loosen the axle pivot bolts, and I think that will end up being a lot more work.
Thanks for the info. I did buy 6 #8 bolts 1/2" 1 1/2" long. I will report on progress tomorrow. Either done or on the back of a wrecker!! Ha!! Hope not.
