It's been a while since I have been to this site,I see a lot of new names, unfortunately I see the same old problems, vibrations. Some may remember me as the "trader". After having my 2004 Fx4 in the shop 8 times in the 3 months I owned it I traded for a Dodge, said I would post a thread after I owned it for a while. It's been 9 months and 8 thousand miles, in that time I had dead battery & it had to be replaced. IMO the quality is lacking in some areas, mainly body integrity. Other than that, no problems, no shakes or vibrations, rides a little rough on the bumps but very smooth on a good road. Mileage is about 13.5 city & 18-19 doing 65 mph. Go over 70 & mpg drops to about 16, (whats up with that?). Best towing truck (gas) that I have ever owned. Is it fast? For a truck it has plenty of power, and yes it will smoke the tires but good. I'm sure if Ford put a 5 speed transmission & a 3.92 rear end in an F150, it would have power to spare. The biggest problem I have with this truck is the simple fact that it's a Dodge! Good luck to all, I hope Ford finds a fix for the problems, If I had a trouble free F150, I rather have that than the Dodge. SEE YA.........
its all luck I think. I had a dodge and in 36, 000 miles went through three transmissions, 1 lower control arm, irnition coil, power steeering pump, and two idler pulleys. My Ford has no problems. Oh and by the way, I didn't lose a tranny until 24k miles then lost three in 12k miles. No I didn't tow anything.
Glad to hear you have a trouble free truck. Please realize that for 90+ percent of the trucks manufatured out there are trouble free. You may have got a lemon ford it happens. Good luck on that Dodge and enjoy it.
