i have 1991 f-150 4x4, my question is about the manual transmision and
front and real axle.
1st on tranny does anyone know if you use atf or 75w90 oil the transfercase has atf
2nd on the axles do you use 80 or 90 w
thank you for any help
The transmission requires straight 80w gear lube. The T-case requires Mercron type ATF. The diffs use hypoid gear lubricant, 80w90 should be sufficient. If you have limited slip diffs, add friction modifier as well. 8.8 inch require 4 ounces, 10.5 inch requires 8 ounces of the friction modifier. This is straight out of my Haynes manual.

Whoa! Don't put gear lube in your 5 speed tranny. It takes Mercon III ATF.
The four speeds do take gear lube, but you probably don't have one in your truck.
