Chad,
If you have the money, I highly recommend Optima batteries. They will set you back about $250-275 for a pair, but will last a lot longer than anyhing else I've seen. They are also completely sealed, have top and side mounts (easy for add-ons), and are really maintenance free! I prefer the yellow top Optimas, but a lot of guys run the red tops and they are a little less expensive.
I've been looking for some for my wife's 2001 Excursion 2WD 7.3L PSD and my 2002 F350 4x4 CC SRW 7.3L PSD. Found the Everstart Maxx 65N at Wal-Mart for $58.84 each. The Sears DieHard is around $79.99 and the Interstate Megatron Plus is about $95.99. The warranty seems to be better on the Everstart.
The walmart ones are made by Johnson Controls, good batterys and its pretty tough to beat the price.
Johnson Controls makes walmart batteries? If so, they are the same company that makes Optima batteries. Might be worth looking into.
I just bought a set of sears diehards. So far so good. (only been in a month)
