Just reprogrammed with Hypertech Programmer III. Got a new truck!! Better shifting and more power! I am not a gearhead and won't be going to the drag strip, but this will perk up the towing significantly.

make sure that you have gauges!!! or at least a pyrometer at a bare minimum... or you can kiss that "new truck" bye-bye as you melt a piston!! just an fyi wouldn't want to see a psd die due to neglect to take proper precautions!!!

I always find it funny, we put in a chip or programmer to get more power, and expecting it, but when we actually get it installed and see the difference, we are always so enthralled by the gross improvement in power!! I was that way as well!!
Just take care of the truck and like previously mentioned, be sure to have a couple gauges to monitor the truck, the more gauges the more cool points you get!!
I also recently purchased a predator programmer from motorhaven and installed it on 60 HP setting. the diffrence was unbeleiveable. I could literally roast the tires I think the reason we get so excited is because its hard to beleive that something so easy to put on does so much. I have had many hot rod cars over the years and have done mods like headers, intake, carb etc and I never saw anything even close to wht this does, especially on a near 7000lb truck.
After a tank of fuel and a week's mixed driving, it is looking like a mileage increase of about 10%. I really wasn't expecting that, but will accept it as a bonus. It's kinda hard not to get your foot in it. Have to use cruise control alot to keep 'er steady.
Be sure and have your tranny changed to lock up sooner, or you will be putting in a tranny. Sometimes we go for the power, but the tranny isn't up to the task, or all the new HP and Tourque. I don't know what it is called, but it is an electronic box that tells the tranny when to lock up the TC.
