Question 352 vs 360

Does a 352 and 360 have the same block? I want to put a 360 in where a 352 came out and the mounts are different. The 360 came out of a 74 f250 4x4 and I want to put it in a 65 f100 4x4. The mounts on the 65 with the 352 have a front motor mount and the 74 with the 369 has side engine mounts. Do they have common bolt holes to accept the mounts?
Thanks, Tim

Thanks for the reply 69highboy. I sure hope it bolts right in. That is what I thought too but the mounts are definately different on these two trucks. Just wanted to make sure the blocks are in fact the same before I bust my knuckles up too bad, just to find a stumbler.

They are basically the same block, but there were a few changes made over the years. One big one is the size of the thrust bearing on the crank - you have to be careful there.

Where you may run into trouble with is that pre- 65 blocks use two bolt engine mounts; 65 and up blocks used three-bolt.

According to Christ's book, a later block can be used in place of an earlier one with no problems, but going the other way requires reworking the motor mounts.

I just don't remember that long ago, but it seems like we did make swaps between the years and did not think of it as a major problem. But in '65 I was still in high school.

See my reply in the engine swap forum...

The 352 truck motor put out 208 hp and about 350 tq. The compression is lower than the car engine wich ran about 30-40 more HP's
