My 97 f-150 4.6L shakes after staring up for a minute or two....then it runs smoothly. Should I be looking for something?
Also, there is a hum from the trans. at about 62mph in o.d. With the o.d. locked out no noise????
Any ideas appreciated.
Its Vapor in the fuel rail, Ford tried to tell me it was a "Garage Effect" from the computer not knowing what temperature the engine was running at. It does it when its really hot outside and the truck is parked in a cooler garage overnight, or not driven in a week. Try this, turn your key to run, but not start and back to off. Repeat 4 to 5 times. If it greatly diminishes the problem then thats it. For you transmisssion you need to keep up on the fluid/filter changes with the pan pulled and converter drained. Make absolutly sure the fluid that written on the tranny dipstick is used, or you'll be replacing the transmission. If the pan has never been pulled there will be a plastic plug in it.
